Alex is a tax lawyer. He practiced for ten years as an associate and as a partner in the tax section of Cox Smith Mathews, Inc., served as associate general counsel for a publicly traded multinational company, and served as a Managing Partner of a large energy law firm. He has focused his practice upon representing clients through disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and upon advising clients with respect to the US federal income tax consequences of various types of transactions.
He has deep expertise in corporate tax, partnership tax and international tax matters. His corporate tax experience includes representing clients through taxable and non-taxable mergers & acquisitions of “C” and “S” corporations. He regularly structures the formation, operation and dissolution of tax partnerships, handles the US tax consequences of real estate transactions, and the creation of private equity investments. With respect to international tax, Alex focuses upon inbound and outbound tax issues, FBAR and FATCA reporting, and transfer pricing tax analysis.
